Games

Each level has a game.  Before the game officially starts, we have the students play Game Rules where they learn how to play the games.  All game content is covered under the grant license.

Game Rules

We open the course with a game on how to use D2L and play the games for the course.

Level 1 - Study Skills

Picture
We originally created this game for level 6 and then realized that students needed study skills before starting the rest of the game.

Level 2 - Research Skills

This is a new level to the game that we are just adding.  We found that students needed to learn how to perform research early in the semester rather than at the same time that they are performing the research.

Level 3 - Campus Resources

Picture
In level 3, students play a scavenger hunt game where they find campus resources.

Level 4 - Career Exploration

Picture
Students begin to research their career and explore their career options.

Level 5 - Goals and Motivation

Picture
Students create a photo collage that tells of story of how they made it to where they are, who/what motivates them to be in college, and what achievements they've made so far.

Level 6 - Educational Plans

Picture
Students create a poster with their educational plans so that they can review their plans after the semester completes and stay motivated to continue their dreams.

Level 7 - Time Management

Picture
Students create their schedule, then adjust it as they are presented with situations.

Level 8 - Drafts

Picture
Students share their drafts with their peers and provide peer reviews.

Level 9 - Dream Job Portfolio

Picture
Students present their dream job portfolio.

Level 10 - Career Development

Level 11 - Personal Growth

Level 12 - Work Skills

We added this new level to help prepare students for the workplace.
